I am delighted to be able to support St Luke’s and be a part of such a caring community. I am a co-opted governor and chair of the learning committee. I have been a governor for 6 months and during that time I have visited the school frequently and supported on staff interviews and learning walks. Before I retired I was the secondary school adviser for Devon. This gave me experience in whole school improvement processes in a variety of education settings. I have spent my career in schools around the country, starting as a drama teacher and moving to positions of increasing responsibility including vice principal of an 11-18 school in Plymouth. I also believe in the importance of the Arts and how they can impact on the lives of our pupils.

Declaration of Interest – Nil

I have been a Foundation Governor for over 8 years and have served on the Ethos, Resources and Learning sub-committees. I am semi-retired from the Met Office, where I was a trained forecaster, but still have several part-time jobs that keep me active, such as a driver for Clyst Caring Friends taking patients to Pinhoe and Broadclyst surgeries, as well as exam invigilating at St Luke’s and Clyst Vale. I am very interested in most sports so St Luke’s being a Science and Sports College fitted in perfectly.
