E-Safety

E-safety is a phrase that many people will have heard of but how many know what it actually means?

E-safety at a simple level means being safe on the internet, we also include the safe use of technology in this as well. The pace at which technology is evolving can make it difficult to keep up to date and know how best to keep your child safe when online.

We all play an extremely important role in inspiring young people and shaping their futures, but we also have a responsibility to safeguard children’s wellbeing, in both the classroom and online.

Online abuse can take shape in a number of forms including:

  • Bullying/cyberbullying
  • Sexual Exploitation
  • Grooming
  • Emotional Abuse

We include a 1 page guide about an aspect of e-safety in each of our newsletters. These are also copied below.

If you have any questions about how to keep your child safe online, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with their tutor, Head of Year or Mr Adam Hill (Assistant Headteacher).
