Remote Learning during Covid-19
We recognise that in these current times due to the covid-19 pandemic, that there will be periods of time when sadly our students will not be able to attend school because they will be self-isolating, either due to a positive case in school which has seen a whole year group or part of a year group asked to self-isolate, or because of individual close contact with a relative or friend outside of school who has tested positive.
It is really important to St Luke’s that these students are able to access their learning and continue to follow the current curriculum plan which they would follow in school. We have therefore put together a remote learning programme that allows students to remotely access current lessons and resources when they are self-isolating.
Provision for a partial/whole year group who have been asked to self-isolate at home
To access this provision, students will need access to a laptop or tablet at home. If they do not have either, then they can also access their lessons using their mobile phone, however, the functionality is not as good as on a laptop or tablet. If you do not have access to a laptop/tablet/phone please contact email@example.com. The remote learning provision in this instance will require students to have MS Teams and Google Classrooms installed on their device. If this scenario does occur, the school will communicate with students and parents/carers with detailed instructions as to how the provision will work.
To assist students and parents with accessing this provision please read the following:
Provision for an individual student who is self-isolating at home due to close contact with a relative or friend
In this scenario, students/parents should contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request our Home Learning for Self-Isolating Students booklet. This details Knowledge Organiser and online lesson tasks and resources that mirror the learning that is taking place in school. It is focused on the core subjects and is broken down into week by week provision to ensure that work completed while at home mirrors the curriculum being delivered in school. Students will need their Knowledge Organiser (pdf copies can be found here ) and access to the internet via a laptop/tablet or phone to be able to access this work.
